With roughly 30% of your property costs going to energy consumption, and 55% of that cost is lighting, the time is now to know if you are lighting it up right, or being left in the dark. Use our check list below to determine how “bright” you are in “light” knowledge.

  • Do you currently use LED lights inside and outside your property?
  • Are occupancy sensors and daylight dimmers currently in use in hallways, lobbies, and parking lots?
  • Do you know about current LED lighting rebates on individual bulbs for your property?
  • Do you know there are incentives for retrofitting your property for energy efficient lighting and fixtures?

Right now throughout the state of Maryland, Properties can receive specific incentives for converting their lighting from high intensity discharge, fluorescent and incandescent to LED. With incentives of up to 50% of the retrofit project cost, and up to 75% of the incremental cost of a new construction project, it is worth it to become bright in the world of LED. More than just the “green” or “right” thing to do, LED cost savings will benefit you with your monthly bills. Savings are big. Rebates on bulbs and lamps are also available.

With occupancy sensors and daylight dimmers installed indoor and outdoor, you are in control. Dimming lights while areas are not in use or during the day can save you hundreds a year in lighting costs. And yes, there are currently incentives for these installations.
